Description:

Surely we're all aware of the Boston hardcore straight-edge Slapshot, the ones who brought hardcore back on the map and jumpstarted a whole new blueprint for many other hardcore bands to follow... The very same band that released such oi-inspired hardcore classics like Step On It and Sudden Death Overtime. So what is this? Well, it's an experimental album... An album that shows Slapshot experimenting with heavy metal and grunge. One thing's for sure, this is not urgent, fast, tickity tocketing, pickity pocketing hardcore. The sound on here is quite different, being rather slow and pounding in both drums and crunching riffs. The drums are slower and more ballasting and sound influenced by maybe Tool, and the riffs go through a series of crunching leads that follow through with lots of good notes, and can go from heavy crunching to echoing, fiery style to lurking, spacy solos that are very difficult to describe. The music doesn't drag on too much and is mostly still quite catchy, but still goes out of its way to do many different things. Also, the bassline and hard-hitting drum intro to Wired sounds a lot like the entry to Epic by Faith No More or something. The lyrics are also really weird. It's an awesome, fiery, pounding album, but those expecting fast and oi-inspired hardcore should best be careful.

Hey, thanks! Maybe now our internet hits will skyrocket! I have a Pink Floyd song ripped to my PC's hard drive now that I think you'll like. --Keith

That wasn't your response, what the fuck. I wrote that in 2005 on Amazon in the Blast Furnace review section. It was the only one, and you stole it. I can't believe you found that, let alone ripped it. I completely forgotten I had written that, then I noticed the 'pickety pockety' description and I knew I'd be the only one to write an album review in such an awkward way. My god, I suck at writing reviews.
