Lonnie Hawks from the movie "Death Falls" is probably one of my favorite (if not my favorite) Jeff Combs character.
There's just something so endearing about a drunken, mildly psychotic, cursing, Southern, stubbly, sweaty-chest-bearing bad boy who drives a big car with a bigger backseat. Call me sick, but he's always the one in those quizzes I'd love to have as a boyfriend...at least in (fantastic) theory.
To paraphrase Lisa Simpson, "I know I could tame him!" *blush*
A friend and I were psychoanalyzing our choices for favorite Jeff characters and I said I loved Lonnie because he was a bad boy, and every woman loves the bad boy.
She believes Lonnie is on my short-list because of my need to "mother" others. Lonnie is in need of a strong female role model to guide him. He's a lost soul in need of a mom.
Freud would have a field day. Heh.
Whatever the reason Lonnie is close to my heart, I thought I'd make him a songvid. :) The song (comedian Tracey Ullman's only hit, "They Don't Know") seemed somehow appropriate as the lyrics tell of a woman defending the man she loves, who may not be what everyone thinks is the best man for her. It's also one of my favorite "one hit wonders" songs (and Paul McCartney makes a cameo in the video. How much cooler can you get?) :)
Oh, and in my new version of iMovie, the "clip speed" feature FINALLY works, so I took *full* advantage of it. Please forgive the overabundance of slowed down Jeff closeups. I got a little giddy when I realized iMovie was finally behaving. :D *blush*
