FabFM ::: Favorites 2007-10-16 22:23:12 publishers = michael jackson, who owns atv music __________________________________________________
FabFM ::: Favorites 2007-10-16 22:24:11 eric idle can hardly pull off the genius of Mccartney (too real indeed!). I dount Eric Idle would have come up with the concept of sgt. pepper. __________________________________________________
FabFM ::: Favorites 2007-10-16 22:26:21 haha ... :) Rutlemaina! "Hey, hey diddle diddle (woooo)... the cat and the fiddle (woooo).... the piggy in the middle go go a joo!" Genius!! :) __________________________________________________
steveconn ::: Favorites 2007-10-17 00:29:37 Ehhh, McCartney's genius flimsy in retrospect (too many pointless melodies). __________________________________________________
FabFM ::: Favorites 2007-10-17 19:19:47 The melodies were not pointless. If they were then the beatles would be pointless because you'd be talking about a large volume of their output, and history has prven the beatles to be anything but pointless. __________________________________________________
steveconn ::: Favorites 2007-10-18 03:22:00 Try Martha My Dear, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Rocky Raccoon, and much of McCartney's solo work for the definition of pointlessness. __________________________________________________
FabFM ::: Favorites 2007-10-18 14:19:38 Martha My Dear is one of the finer moments of the Beatles 1967-era. McCartney's solo efforts are also largely great. He was the only solo Beatles to consistently hit anywhere near the levels of greatness that the group achieved. __________________________________________________
steveconn ::: Favorites 2007-10-18 17:31:27 The Lawrence Welk of Rock ("Silly Love Songs," anyone?) __________________________________________________
scarletspidey5 ::: Favorites 2007-10-18 18:11:50 The Rutles are so stupid. Fuck them. I esspecially hate the guy who is playing as paul. DIE DIE DIE!!!!!!! __________________________________________________
FabFM ::: Favorites 2007-10-18 19:04:11 All "silly love songs" proves is that Macca is the true rebel of rock that refused to give in to the critics and stayed true to the music he liked to make and that his extremely large fan base, of which I am pleased to be in, also found to be great. Some rock critic commented that "all Paul McCartney does these days is write silly love songs"... Paul took the critism and was saying "don't care what you say, love isn't silly and l do what I want". __________________________________________________
steveconn ::: Favorites 2007-10-19 00:14:43 I'm sorry, but the phrase "true rebel of rock" does not fit with the kind of safe vanilla Paul helplessly unleashed on the public. without Paul, John's music lost a certain melodic spirit, but without John, Paul's music lost balls (music barely definable as rock). __________________________________________________
28if ::: Favorites 2007-10-19 01:39:03 Although you have to admit when Paul was answering John in his songs he got them back. Think "Let me Roll It" and "Too Many People" any song that starts of with "Piss Off, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah", has to be good. As for the rest of his schmatlz other that Mull of Kintre is down the tubes __________________________________________________
28if ::: Favorites 2007-10-19 01:43:17 The problem is that Macca writes the melody and then tries to fit lyrics to it. Band on the Run works, Mammonia and My Love doesn't I won't even get into La La Lovely Linda with the La La Lovely flowers in her hair __________________________________________________
28if ::: Favorites 2007-10-19 01:44:57 Sorry you don't understand parody, check out a few Monty Python episodes, "Paul" is the comedian Eric Idle who doesn't play an instrument or sing __________________________________________________
FabFM ::: Favorites 2007-10-19 06:55:42 "The true rebel of rock" does fit in with the tunes McCartney gave us. Critics and some of the public expect rock stars to act like they are hell raisers, before they go home and really sit in doors with the family and watch coronation street with their tea and biccies. Macca simply refused that act and was genuine and did what he wanted, not what others expected him to be. That is a true rebel. __________________________________________________ |
