creepsomber 2008-01-28 17:02:31 (pt. 2) They will never forget the horror they caused as they see themselves decapitate another human being in their nightmares, over and over again. The topic was inspired by a recent debate with another youtuber, but is applicable in most instances of conflict, but is especially poignant with regards to the current war in the middle east. __________________________________________________
creepsomber 2008-01-28 17:00:53 Yes, an introspective, brutally honest self assessment. I've often thought of the mind-shredding horror an Islamic militant might experience one day when, after the 'glee of war', and the excitement of being a 'freedom fighter' fades, and the war gives way to peace, they realize they brutally murdered human beings not for righteousness, but a lie they willfully maintained ignorance to. __________________________________________________
FTLNewsFeed 2008-01-28 12:55:02 aha, the need for war and peace is wrapped up in our nature, so while war nor peace can be forced through a change then shouldn't the subject of change be our nature? __________________________________________________
ReligionIsACrutch 2008-01-28 11:42:50 I've thought this same thing for a while but have never heard anyone else explain it so well. Conflict is inevitable. Human judgment is imperfect. The only thing that makes sense is freedom. __________________________________________________
type102 2008-01-28 03:40:41 good stuff, i have to ask though, what spurred the thought? the conflict in the middle east or our war in it? either way, interesting and entertaining stuff. __________________________________________________ |
