bobomcgraw ::: Favorites 2007-12-21 18:38:09 Aren't there different accents depending on what part of the city you're from? Well to a certain extent. __________________________________________________
bobomcgraw ::: Favorites 2007-12-21 18:37:11 One of my flatmates is from Kerry, I thought he was Polish the first time I heard him speak. __________________________________________________
theshedi ::: Favorites 2007-12-21 16:50:57 hahaha cork is easy just start every sentence in a low tone & finish it on a high tone & try to sound paranoid haha! the tipp, kerry or clare accents are the best by far! who cant laugh listening to a kerryman talk __________________________________________________
theshedi ::: Favorites 2007-12-21 16:47:24 well im unfortunatly from Dublin & all ive heard from Dublin people is the typical skanger accent either weak or strong, the yaw D4 accent & then the neutral irish accent! everything else is from outside Dublin __________________________________________________
bobomcgraw ::: Favorites 2007-12-21 12:10:01 I lived in Dublin and i knew people that had a few different accents, some thick Dub, none with the D4 though, but there were others in between. __________________________________________________
bobomcgraw ::: Favorites 2007-12-21 12:08:57 I know, Cork accents are a bastard to immitate. __________________________________________________
xxRebelxxFitz ::: Favorites 2007-12-21 10:51:12 The "T" in Dublin 4 is usually pronounced like an "sh" sound, like: Are yous gettin the Darsh? Cork is the best though!!! Note: if trying to do a Cork accent (which is actually impossible if you're not from Cork) don't forget to add "like" in every sentence, at least twice. And contrary to popular belief, Corkonians do not add "boy" in too. Only during hurling matches. __________________________________________________
theshedi ::: Favorites 2007-12-20 19:09:53 i dont know man i think you might be slightly wrong there! as we know there nearly a different accent for each county either stronger or weaker like the cork accent! & id say dublin only has the 2 accents the D4 posh one & the skanger (either strong or weak) & then i think there's an all round neutral irish accent like andrea corr or kathyren thomas which can be found all over the country (kinda like yours) but would be more associated with galway __________________________________________________
bobomcgraw ::: Favorites 2007-12-20 10:13:06 You're very welcome. Break a leg. __________________________________________________ |
