Dog training be adaptable to the method the individual feels capable of executing, as well as the dog's needs.Different strokes for different folks AND their dogs. It is up to the individual to determine the method best suited to their goals, their dog, the dog's abilities, their own capabilities." I like your training philosophy;) 07-02-11 15:58:14 _____________________________________________________
bcs4me ::: Favorites Actually if everyone adopted that mentality the world would never progress! There is a reason why training methods have evolved. 07-02-11 21:06:07 _____________________________________________________
bcs4me ::: Favorites And while there are different methods for different people, foundaton work with a puppy is essential in a positive method. "NO" is not positive in any method. 07-02-11 21:07:24 _____________________________________________________
bcs4me ::: Favorites I concur with you. Picking up a book by Dr.Ian Dunbar or Jean Donaldson would be worthwhile for anyone training dogs. 07-02-11 21:09:07 _____________________________________________________
edster612 ::: Favorites While I'm not a fan of physically maneuvering a dog to teach the "sit" behavior, I realize it has it's place in certain situations. My own personal belief is that the oppositional reflex becomes more ingrained in the dog. I do like your vids though. You have beautiful dogs. 07-02-21 08:56:22 _____________________________________________________

iSulli ::: Favorites i dont say the word no, i say hey in a dominant way is that alright? 07-05-08 03:18:41 _____________________________________________________
2BCsNme ::: Favorites Dogs who are taught traditionally to do what they are told, don't develop their minds to their fullest extent. They aren't able to communicate creatively. My dogs are encouraged in training sessions to explore and offer problem solving. Very fun....it's all about communication. 07-05-22 12:02:43 _____________________________________________________ |
