i do agree, these computerized machines can be hacked easily, and reprogrammed to misinterupt the votes. it's a bigger logisical challenge, but a pen and paper ballot is the best way because there is a record, that the voter has made themselves. peace.

I think the problem with voting is the fact that people have the right to cast a secret ballot, nobody can see who you voted for so there is no real way to confirm the count in the end. It's like democracy in the classroom where the teacher wants a show of hands for a vote but you're not allowed to see who else is raising their hand you just how to trust the teacher when she says who won.

They can even do this at polling stations on election day. I'm sure the turnstile is a heck of a lot cheaper then these Diebold voting machines and they don't require tons of computer programming to count, not to mention they require no electricity to run in case of a power outage.

Here's my idea on the perfect voting system:
Set up a booth for each candidate. At a set time, you get everyone that's in attendance at the straw poll and have them form lines at the booth of their candidate. Once the lines are formed you put a poll volunteer at the end of the line to insure nobody gets back in line. Then you unveil the voting machine which is just a simple turnstile that counts like you see at theme parks. Then have each booth post the count. Simple yet accurate.
